Tennis is a sport that requires only a few pieces of mandatory equipment – Balls, Racquets and a net.
However there are a multitude of optional equipment that tennis players choose to use for comfort, convenience, to reduce chances of injury and/or for performance enhancement. These are: Arm sleeves, Ball clips, ball hoppers, bandanas, ball machines, tennis shoes, tennis kit, grip tape, knee brace and sweat bands – just to name a few.
If a player is just trying out the game to see if they like it, these pieces of equipment may be a barrier to embracing the sport.
As a result, at iQTennis our policy is:
- New students to the game will be given a racquet free of charge to use during class.
- Tiny tots shall be issued with a racquet for use during class free of charge throughout their year.
- Individuals who register for termly classes shall be issued with a racquet free of charge for use during the tennis lesson.
- All other categories of players shall be charged 500 per session for a racquet.
How much is the racquet hire fee in Kenya?
500 Kshs (Approx $5 usd) for a 1 hour session.
